At the press conference held on Thursday, 18 August 2011, the Chairman of the Management Board of Steklarna Hrastnik, Andrej Božič, assessed the company’s operations as "very good". In the first seven months of the year, the revenues were increased by 15% as compared to the previous year, bringing the total to EUR 28.5 million.
In the same period of last year, they recorded a loss of well over a million euros, while this year, they posted net profits worth somewhat over 239 thousand euros.
The Chairman of the Management Board, Mr. Božič, told the reporters at the conference that they are facing problems brought on by the rising raw materials prices where the gas bill alone increased by 40 per cent from January of last year.
This year, they are projecting revenues worth EUR 50 million and net profits of EUR 1.5 million.
